How do I password protect a page on my site?

I had a Facebook message this morning which went like this…

Hi Jean

I am looking at creating a secure page on my website for my Momentum Circle people – a place where all our calls and training videos/ MP3s will go. Is this easy enough to do or should I be going down the route of a membership site (or is that the same thing??)

And here’s my reply :

The easiest way is to add a password to the page and let everyone have the password for that page. If you have ongoing membership and you want to stop people having access if they stop paying then you need a membership site. Also if you have too much content for one page
