How to easily create sales funnels on WordPress

Online experts always talk about creating a sales funnel for your business. They talk about the importance of building your own list and creating a database of names – people you could potentially market your products and service to. But what exactly is a sales funnel… and how can you easily create one on WordPress?

The sales funnel

sales funnelA sales funnel is a visual representation of the steps visitors go through, in order to buy your products and services. It starts with a new visitor to your site, someone who is just finding out about you and what you have to offer that they may be interested in.

As they move through your funnel, they complete actions that illustrate the likelihood of them buying from you increasing – such as signing up for your free opt-in offer or buying a low priced product – and the narrow end of you funnel will illustrate a successful purchase of your higher priced offers.

What you need in place

To make your sales funnel work well, you need to ensure you have an easy and streamlined process set up on your website. This includes sales pages, opt-in forms, thank you pages, confirmation pages and lastly – a download page for buyers to access your product.

Obviously creating great looking pages can be time consuming and stressful. However there’s software available to make that job so much easier and faster! The two I would recommend are Thrive and Lead Pages.

Thrive

The team at Thrive have create an impressive set of themes and plugins to make your website work harder for you – and you an access them all by joining as a Thrive Member. What’s great about Thrive is, as they’re plugins, they run on your own website server.

You have access to Thrive Themes (set up to make your website convert more visitors into buyers), their list building plugin (to help focus on conversion optimisation), Thrive Content Builder (a front-end visual editor) and Thrive Landing Pages – where you can use and alter easy templates for all your sales funnel steps, with just a few simple clicks.

Thrive Membership is available at $147 a year, but they also have monthly options too, so check out what option is best for you. (See all payment options here)

Lead Pages

Lead Pages is similar to Thrive, however the pages you create through Lead Pages are hosted on their server – so your URL will get directed through Lead Pages before it goes back to your site.

Lead Pages has a great range of template and they integrate seamlessly with most mail providers, including MailChimp and AWeber. You can also turn any page into a webinar registration, by connecting Lead Pages with your GoToWebinar account. They also have impressive analytics features and each page is 100% compatible with Facebook pages – making it a great way to interact with your Facebook fans and build your list even further.

Lead Pages is available from $37 a month ($25 if you go for the annual options). There are 3 different accounts to choose from and, although you get access to all of the templates across those three accounts, you don’t get all of the additional features – so check what you need is covered in the option you select! (See all the payment options here).

What options do you currently use to create your sales funnels? Do you have questions about setting one up or using either of the options above? If it’s leaving you all confused, why not give me a call and let’s see if I can help you get clearer on sales funnels and your available options?
